Simen Lossius Ellefsen - Assignment #2: Will it be adopted?

Fork Chops

Relative Advantage: This product, in contrast to regular chopsticks, has both the chops and a fork. This creates an advantages due to the complexity of the regular chopsticks - which from my perspective is hard to use. The performance is improved through the additional dimension you get with a fork on the product.

Complexity: As I mentioned above, the fork chops are much easier to use, which should not impede the implementation of the product. It is not difficult to understand the function of the technology.

Trialability: This product should not be hard to test due to the low complexity.

Observability: There may be a visible result in the way you consume your food more rapidly – e.g, you are eating sushi and the pieces fall apart; here you are - “fork chops”.

Compatibility: There could be a problem to implement this innovation in the asian culture – chopsticks are a part of the conventional dining set there. However, in the western part of the world the fork chops could be adapted without further problems.

Adaptability: The fork chops have multiple uses – you can use it as a fork or as chopsticks. So if you run out of forks, you can use your fork chops.

Conclusion: It may not be the most revolutionary product on the market, but it offers a new dimension to the old chopsticks. Although, I don´t believe that this product will be adopted.
